Through the diverse skills of SSB’s four Directors and contracted associates, we are able to offer a broad range of practical advice, support and solutions. This can be through specific consultancy work or engagement on a retained basis.

Barbara is Chair of SSB. A solicitor by training, she has been involved in the area for over 35 years. Before becoming an independent consultant she held senior management positions with Aberdeen University Research and Industrial Services, Scottish Council Development and Industry and Highland Regional Council. She has extensive experience at Board level across the voluntary, public and commercial sectors, appointments having included Peterhead Port Authority, Grampian Heath Board, Highland Communities NHS Trust and Aberdeen University Business Committee.

She specialises in

	Management and Board Training including Governance and the role and responsibilities of Directors; Stakeholder involvement; Change Management; Strategic development and alignment; Visioning
	Training Needs Analysis and
	Organisation and facilitation of seminars and conferences, locally, nationally and internationally.

Barbara enjoys working with all sorts of folks and has a knack of making the complicated seem simple!

Lindsey Kelly is SSB’s resident marketing ‘guru’, a registered Chartered Marketer, a qualified Premier Advisor and business coach. As a naturally practical person Lindsey works with the client to create solutions that work, before becoming a consultant, her hands on experience was gained working in software and manufacturing, where she successfully developed brands, launched new products and increased market penetration both nationally and internationally.

With over 20 years experience of working with businesses and social enterprises, her particular skills are in assisting clients with marketing and growth.

She specialises in

	Marketing and Promotion, branding and brochures, sales, e-commerce and web2
	Target marketing and segmentation

	Market development, market penetration and diversification

Steve is SSB’s expert in the field of IT and E-Commerce and he too is a Business Gateway advisor. He has been working as an independent IT consultant for over 11 years providing IT and E-Commerce advice for SMEs, Micro Businesses, Start-ups and Social Enterprises.

He provides a wide range of IT solutions to businesses and individuals, including:

	Removal of virus & malware infections
	Recovery of lost data
	System repairs & upgrades
	general troubleshooting
	Advice and tuition.
	Web and e-Commerce solutions including website evaluation & advice, design & implementation, "Web 2.0" (FaceBook, etc), and domain-based emails.

Steve can simplify the jargon to help his clients understand the world of IT and E-commerce.

Sally Rowan is Administrator/Company Secretary for SSB. Her background is in local authority and small business administration, giving her hands on experience of budgeting, financial administration, planning and reporting processes.

She can review and design systems for clients that will help any business or organisation to run more efficiently without being overcomplicated! She can also remain involved if clients wish ongoing assistance.
